Plug in SEO Plus works out-of-the-box to generate the best page titles, meta descriptions and structured data for your shop- you don't need to do anything special once the code is in your theme to benefit straight away.
There are a few extra things that we've found to be worthwhile for you to do to make sure you're getting the most out of Plug in SEO Plus:
1. Add the settings for Structured Data
The only information we can't get directly from your shop is a couple of things for Structured Data. Add the settings for Structured Data and you're good to go with Google-valid Structured Data.
2. Add a page title for Blog
Most Shopify blogs are called 'News' because that's the default. Poor for SEO! If you've called yours something like 'Vintage crafts blog' then great, skip this step, otherwise let's set a better page title than 'News' for your blog.
In your Shopify admin go to Online Store > Themes > Customize Theme > SEO - Page Titles.
In 'Blog' enter a good SEO page title for your blog. Something like 'Vintage and retro crafts blog'. Press Save.
Note that if you have multiple blogs you should use a Liquid variable here to make each blog's page title unique. Take a look at Editing and setting up page titles or drop us a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with your URL and we can suggest something after looking at your setup.
3. Check and edit the page title append
To make the most of the space you have in page titles for SEO we append to short page titles. By default this is your shop name.
If your shop name doesn't contain good keywords, like 'ACME Inc.', set the 'Append' value to something better for SEO like ' | Modern wooden furniture'. See the 'Appender' setting for more details.
4. Are you using other apps like Locksmith or Langify?
Check the App Compatibility section for more information about getting everything working well together.
Plug in SEO Plus gives you a lot more control over SEO than you've had before. Take a look at the Settings you can configure to improve your SEO even more.
